Kids Connection is seeking a caring, flexible, and dependable Preschool Float Teacher to join our Preschool team! This position provides classroom support throughout the school by stepping into different classrooms as needed, helping maintain consistent routines, and creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children.
Our Float Teachers work closely with classroom teachers and leadership to support daily instruction, supervise children, and ensure each classroom runs smoothly while building positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
Responsibilities include:
- Support multiple preschool classrooms by assisting teachers and stepping in to lead classroom activities when needed.
- Implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans, learning centers, and activities prepared by classroom teachers.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain classroom materials, projects, learning centers, and activity spaces.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, rest time, and transitions while maintaining active supervision at all times.
- Foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through positive interactions and encouragement.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels supported.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers while maintaining open and professional communication.
- Follow all health, safety, licensing, and emergency procedures.
- Assist with daily classroom routines, including diapering, potty training, bathroom assistance, meal and snack service, and rest time.
- Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary classrooms, toys, equipment, and learning materials.
- Complete required attendance, accident reports, and other classroom documentation.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, Open House, Back-to-School Night, family events, and other school activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Required Early Childhood Education (ECE) units to meet California licensing requirements.
- Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Previous experience working in a preschool or licensed childcare setting preferred.
- Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and classroom management skills.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to support multiple classrooms and changing daily needs.
- Passion for working with young children and creating a positive learning environment.
- Pediatric CPR certification (or willingness to obtain through Kids Connection) and successful Live Scan background clearance required.
