Swing Shift Janitor / Groundskeeper
Job Description
Position Overview: We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Janitor / Groundskeeper to join our team. This position is responsible for ensuring our facilities and surrounding grounds remain clean, safe, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, can manage multiple cleaning and maintenance tasks, and has a proactive attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
Interior Building Cleaning
* Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in offices, break rooms, restrooms, and common areas
* Dust surfaces, vents, ledges, and furniture
* Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, and fixtures
* Empty trash bins and replace liners throughout the facility
* Perform light-duty repairs such as replacing light bulbs, tightening screws, and reporting larger issues
* Maintain janitorial supplies and notify supervisor when reordering is needed
Exterior Groundskeeping and Yard Maintenance
* Mow lawns, edge walkways, and use a leaf blower to keep exterior areas neat and tidy
* Maintain outdoor areas by trimming shrubs, pulling weeds, and sweeping walkways
* Perform light sprinkler system maintenance and minor repairs
* Clean outdoor drains, sumps, and curbs as needed
* Remove trash and debris from outdoor areas including parking lots and entryways
* Ensure outdoor areas are kept safe, presentable, and hazard-free
Schedule
*Monday through Friday 4:00PM to 1:00AM alternating Saturdays 8:00AM-2:00PM. This would also be a position where on occasion you would need to cover other positions as early as 8am to 5pm, 10am to 7pm., when needed.
Qualifications:
* Previous janitorial or maintenance experience preferred
* Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment and lawn tools (e.g., vacuums, trimmers, hand tools)
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow a routine schedule
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
* Reliable and punctual
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
* Frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting (up to 80 lbs.), and working indoors and outdoors
* Exposure to cleaning chemicals and seasonal weather conditions
* Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English
