Assistant Teacher

Tiny Tots Daycare is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support a nurturing, engaging learning environment for children.

Position Summary

The Assistant Teacher helps create a safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate classroom experience. This role supports lead teachers in planning daily activities, supervising children, and maintaining a clean, organized learning space that encourages growth and curiosity.

You will work closely with a team to foster positive routines, implement classroom expectations, and ensure each child’s needs are met with patience, care, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with daily lesson activities, transitions, and age-appropriate learning experiences

• Supervise children throughout the day, including indoor/outdoor play, meals, and classroom routines

• Maintain a safe environment by following childcare safety procedures and classroom guidelines

• Support classroom organization by helping clean, prepare learning materials, and ensure supplies are stocked

• Communicate professionally with families and the teaching team regarding daily observations and needs

Required Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a childcare, school, or related setting

• Ability to supervise children safely and respond appropriately to daily needs and classroom situations

• Strong communication skills and a positive, respectful approach with children and adults

• Reliability and the ability to follow established routines, policies, and expectations

• Ability to stand, walk, and actively participate in classroom activities throughout the shift

Preferred Qualifications

• Training or experience in early childhood education or child development

• Experience supporting children with diverse learning needs in a classroom setting

• Familiarity with age-appropriate learning activities, positive guidance, and classroom routines

• Experience working in a team-based childcare environment

Compensation

Hourly rate: $14.00 - $16.00
