Work Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

Position Summary

The Youth Outreach Advocate plays a crucial role in engaging young people on the waitlist, alumni, and current residents. This position requires balancing competing priorities while maintaining a positive and engaging presence with youth, staff, and community members. The role ensures safety and well-being across the facility while adhering to organizational policies and procedures.


Key Responsibilities

· Engage youth through outreach initiatives and support activities

· Serve as the first point of contact for all incoming youth

· Maintain professional communication across phone, in-person, and internal systems

· Monitor reception area, manage calls, and direct inquiries appropriately

· Sort and distribute mail for residents and alumni

· Track outreach and engagement data in ETO and HMIS systems

· Conduct regular internal and external safety checks of the facility

· Plan and execute monthly outreach events for youth experiencing homelessness

· Support conflict resolution and utilize de-escalation techniques when necessary

· Maintain detailed activity logs and incident documentation

· Assist in emergency situations and crisis interventions

· Provide backup coverage and support additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

· High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

· Demonstrated commitment to supporting youth experiencing homelessness

· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic setting

Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree preferred

· Experience working with vulnerable youth populations

· Knowledge of trauma-informed care and harm reduction practices

· Familiarity with adolescent development and community resources

· Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
