Position Overview

The Elementary Teacher provides instruction for grades K–5, creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment that integrates academic excellence with a biblical worldview. This role emphasizes foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and character development within a safe and caring classroom.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Curriculum Delivery

• Design and implement age-appropriate, engaging lessons that meet state and school standards.
• Integrate biblical principles into all areas of instruction.
• Foster a love of learning through creative teaching strategies.

Student Support & Assessment

• Assess student learning through formal and informal evaluations.
• Provide differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and development.

Classroom Management

• Create a positive, orderly, and respectful classroom culture.
• Implement classroom management techniques consistent with school policy.

Professional Responsibilities

• Participate in PLC meetings, professional development, and school activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and school initiatives.

Administrative Duties

• Maintain accurate attendance and grading records.
• Submit required reports and lesson plans on time.

Other Duties

• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Lower Schools Principal or Headmaster.

Requirements

Education & Credentials

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (required).
• Valid state teaching certification (preferred).
  

Experience

• Previous elementary teaching experience preferred.
• Experience in a Christian school setting is a plus.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in basic educational technology and learning management systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and parents.

Other Requirements

• Must pass background screening and meet all school safety requirements.
• Ability to perform duties consistent with the physical and professional expectations of an elementary classroom teacher.
