Position Summary

The Construction Foreman is responsible for supervising and leading field crews to ensure construction projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and according to company quality standards. The Foreman serves as the direct leader of assigned employees and subcontractors, coordinating daily activities while maintaining communication with the Superintendent and Project Manager.

The Foreman is expected to lead by example through professionalism, integrity, safety awareness, and a commitment to producing exceptional workmanship.


Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Crew Management
  • Supervise and direct daily activities of assigned field personnel.

  • Assign daily work tasks and monitor productivity.

  • Train and mentor new employees and apprentices.

  • Foster teamwork and maintain a positive work environment.

  • Address performance concerns promptly and professionally.

  • Ensure crews represent Deep Creek Builders LLC in a professional manner.

Project Execution
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction drawings.

  • Coordinate work with subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors.

  • Ensure work meets company quality standards.

  • Maintain project schedules and production goals.

  • Identify construction conflicts before they become costly issues.

  • Assist with layout and field measurements when necessary.

Safety Responsibilities
  • Enforce all company safety policies.

  • Conduct daily safety meetings and toolbox talks.

  • Ensure proper use of PPE.

  • Identify and correct unsafe working conditions.

  • Report accidents and incidents immediately.

  • Maintain OSHA compliance.

Equipment & Materials
  • Verify materials are delivered correctly.

  • Maintain inventory of tools and equipment.

  • Report damaged or missing equipment.

  • Ensure company equipment is maintained properly.

  • Minimize waste of labor and materials.

Communication
  • Provide daily progress updates to the Superintendent.

  • Communicate scheduling needs.

  • Report delays or project concerns immediately.

  • Maintain positive relationships with clients and inspectors.

  • Complete required daily reports and documentation.

Quality Control
  • Inspect completed work daily.

  • Ensure all work complies with plans and specifications.

  • Correct deficiencies before inspections.

  • Maintain a clean and organized jobsite.


Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of construction experience.

  • Minimum 2 years in a leadership role preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of residential and commercial construction practices.

  • Ability to read blueprints and specifications.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • OSHA certification preferred.

  • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements

The Foreman must be able to:

  • Lift up to 75 pounds.

  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.

  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions.

  • Operate power tools and construction equipment safely.

  • Climb ladders and scaffolding.

  • Work at heights when required.

Working Conditions

This position requires frequent outdoor work in varying weather conditions, exposure to construction environments, use of ladders, scaffolding, heavy equipment, power tools, dust, noise, and other conditions common to the construction industry.
