Description:
This position is responsible for the welding and fabrication of standard and custom bins, hoppers, silos, and tanks used in a variety of industries. To excel in this role, the candidate should have in-depth knowledge of welding machinery and equipment. A steady hand, natural motivation, positive attitude/aptitude and an outstanding attention to detail are recommended, as well as performing all other duties assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Measure, grind, read blueprints, lay out parts, and tack weld
- Safely use welders, torches, plasma cutters, grinders, cranes, and other equipment.
- Weld inside tanks and other confined spaces.
- Set up and operate welding equipment.
- Inspect welds for quality and make needed corrections.
- Grind and finish welds for a clean appearance.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and keep work areas clean.
- Follow all safety rules and wear required protective gear.
- Monitor equipment for proper operation.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read blueprints and use a tape measure.
- Welding certification or at least 3 years of welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Pass a weld test and written skills assessment.
- Experience with GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, and FCAW welding processes.
- Knowledge of welding equipment, tools, and safety practices.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of different metals and how to work with them.
- Ability to read technical drawings and plans.
- Able to work independently with little supervision.
- Maintain accuracy and focus while working.
- Work well alone and as part of a team.
- Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Shifts:
1st Shift, Monday- Friday; 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
2nd Shift, Monday- Thursday, 3:00 pm-1:00am + $1.25 shift differential
3rd Shift, Monday- Thursday, 9:00pm - 7:00am + $2.00 shift differential
