Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Lead technical accounting research and implementation for new accounting standards and complex transactions.
- Own the fixed asset accounting function, including capitalization policies, depreciation calculations, asset disposals, physical inventory reconciliations, and construction-in-progress projects.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement analyses.
- Support inventory and cost accounting processes, including inventory reserves, cycle counts, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Assist with external audits, year-end reporting requirements, and auditor requests.
- Develop, document, and improve accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Finance.
- Mentor and develop accounting staff while fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting principles.
- Demonstrated experience managing month-end close processes.
- Extensive fixed asset accounting experience, including capitalization, depreciation, and asset reconciliations.
- Experience preparing financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
