Bilingual Tax Reviewer & Preparer

Our Spanish-speaking clients, business owners and families across the Katy and Houston area, need returns that are reviewed carefully and explained clearly, in whichever language they're most comfortable in. We're looking for someone with at least 2 years of tax experience under their belt who's ready to own review work, jump in to prepare returns when the team needs it, and keep building toward more responsibility over time. This is an individual-contributor role, you won't be managing anyone, but there's real room to grow as you show you're ready for more.

Required:

• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, written and spoken — you'll be doing client-facing work in both

• At least 2 years of proven tax experience (public accounting or a tax firm), including some exposure to reviewing returns, not just preparing them

• Working knowledge of 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, and Schedule C/E returns

• A solid accounting foundation. Comfortable with bookkeeping, GL reconciliation, and financial statements

• Genuinely curious and proactive: you ask questions, look for what's next, and want more responsibility over time, not just a steady routine

• Comfortable managing deadlines during busy season without it becoming a fire drill

Preferred (not required):

• Active Enrolled Agent (EA) license, or actively studying for the exam — not required, but a plus, and we'll support you in finishing it if you're on the path

• Experience discussing return findings or simple planning ideas directly with clients

What You'll Do

• Review individual and small business tax returns (1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, Schedule C/E) for accuracy, compliance, and missed opportunities

• Prepare returns yourself when client volume or deadlines call for extra hands-on capacity — not the majority of your time, but a real part of the job

• Meet with clients, in English or Spanish, depending on their preference, to walk through return findings and answer their questions

• Research evolving tax law and IRS guidance so your reviews stay sharp and current

• Flag planning opportunities you notice in client files (entity structure, retirement, real estate) and loop in the advisory team to take them further

• Work alongside accounting and bookkeeping colleagues on clients with more complex financial pictures

• Take on more, harder files, more client contact, more of the planning conversation, as you show you're ready for it

Base salary depending on experience and how much review work you're already doing.
