Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Collision Repair Production Manager to oversee daily back-shop operations in our wee established collision repair facility. This role is responsible for driving shop workflow, dispatching jobs to body and paint technicians, and maintaining strict quality control and cycle-time benchmarks. You will work directly with office manager and insurance adjusters to coordinate supplement approvals, track parts fulfillment, and ensure on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production & Workflow Management:
    • Direct daily back-shop production flow, assigning repair orders to body technicians, frame techs, and painters based on skill set and shop capacity.
    • Monitor vehicle progress through disassembly, metal/body, paint, assembly, and detail stages to meet target delivery dates.
    • Track shop cycle time and touch time metrics to maximize stall productivity.
  • Quality Control & Standards:
    • Perform pre-paint and final Quality Control (QC) inspections to ensure all repairs comply with OEM repair procedures and safety guidelines.
    • Enforce shop safety protocols, personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance, and OSHA/EPA regulations across the shop floor.
  • Office & Insurance Coordination:
    • Partner closely with the office manager and insurance adjusters to identify hidden damage during tear-down and process timely supplements.
    • Coordinate parts procurement to verify OEM/aftermarket parts receipt before scheduling jobs onto the floor.
    • Communicate daily production status updates during shop release meetings.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 3–5+ years of experience in collision repair, body shop production management, or auto body estimating.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of auto body repair processes, frame alignment, paint systems, and OEM repair procedures (Alldata, Mitchell, or CCC ONE).
  • Certifications: I-CAR certification or ASE collision repair credentials strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, ability to manage technician efficiency, dispute resolution, and proficiency with management/estimating software.
