Job Title: RV Technician
Location: Extensive travel across the U.S. is required. This position does not have one standard work location.
Job Type: Full-Time
Industry: RV Rentals / Event Logistics
Schedule: Flexible availability is required. Work schedules will vary based on company needs, including evenings, weekends, holidays, travel assignments, and on-call shifts as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnosis & Repair:
- Inspect and troubleshoot RV components, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and propane systems.
- Perform repairs and replacements on appliances, slide-outs, generators, awnings, and other mechanical systems.
- Address structural issues, including leaks, flooring repairs, and roof maintenance.
Routine Maintenance:
- Conduct preventative maintenance services, such as oil changes, battery checks, and tire inspections.
- Perform safety inspections to ensure compliance with industry and manufacturer standards.
Customer Service & Communication:
- Clearly explain repair and maintenance procedures to the service writer, customer liaison, or directly to customers.
- Provide informed recommendations for necessary repairs and potential upgrades.
- Accurately document and report all completed work, including notes on future service needs.
- Assist with invoice preparation and parts pricing as needed.
Parts & Inventory Management:
- Identify necessary replacement parts and coordinate orders with suppliers to ensure timely availability.
- Track inventory levels and anticipate demand to prevent shortages or delays in service.
- Maintain an organized and well-stocked inventory of tools, parts, and equipment to support efficient workflow.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and proper stock levels.
- Work closely with vendors and suppliers to negotiate pricing and ensure quality parts are sourced.
- Assist in developing and implementing inventory management processes to optimize storage and accessibility.
Collaboration & Safety Compliance:
- Work closely with the service team to complete jobs efficiently and meet customer deadlines.
- Follow all safety guidelines and proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Stay up to date on industry best practices, safety regulations, and manufacturer requirements.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working with RV systems, including electrical, plumbing, propane, and HVAC.
- Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work in tight spaces, and operate power tools safely.
Experience & Education:
- Required: Previous experience in RV repair, automotive, marine, or related technical field.
- Preferred: Certifications from RVIA, RVDA, or other industry-recognized organizations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or vocational school preferred.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor work is required in varying weather conditions.
- Flexible hours, including weekends and on-call shifts as needed.
- Will need to respond to mobile service calls, including on-call weekends as necessary.
- Extensive travel across the U.S. is required for events, service calls, installations, and operational support
