Overview: Family owned and operated child daycare center is in the process of opening and renovating a second facility after tremendous success growing the original center over the past three years. At our child care center, we remain committed to bringing the highest quality child care and education experience to our children and their families.

As a Center Director you will have the opportunity to work with the current team in place and continue to build out the team to achieve the goals and objectives of the Center. You will be able to partner with your staff, your families and your community. The Center has 7 large classrooms and has a current capacity of 133 children. You will work closely with owners to implement the daycare program and will have significant say building the program. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or CDA with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Daycare or preschool setting. Must be able to qualify as Center Director per the state licensing requirements.

Job Summary:

The Program Director effectively operates and manages all aspects of the child care center. This includes but is not limited to the following: interviewing, hiring, record checking, orientating and training new staff, recruit children, implement curriculum, and develop parental rapport. Establishes strong working relationships with state licensing authorities and keep up with licensing standards.

Job Responsibilities:

Staff:

  • Ensure proper staffing for the center to meet ratios.
  • Advertise, interview, and reference check potential new staff.
  • Conduct orientation for new staff.
  • Supervise new and current staff.
  • Maintain staff files
  • Evaluate and document all aspects of each staff member’s job performance
  • Arrange substitutes for absent staff members.
  • Function as substitute for absent staff member if another substitute is not available.
  • Conduct staff meetings as needed.
  • Ensure that teachers are performing their tasks.
  • Function as a leader who is cooperative and committed to the concept of team spirit; willing to share ideas, time, and services, thereby helping others to achieve their best.
  • Assist teachers in the classroom whenever necessary.

Children:

  • Top priority: ensure the health and safety of all children in care
  • Recruit children to grow and maintain enrollment.
  • Ensure safety through proper maintenance of building, grounds and equipment.
  • Maintain effective positive guidance policies throughout the center.
  • Document and report possible cases of child abuse or neglect in accordance with the State Regulations and company policies.
  • Prepare meals on site and ensure menu adheres to nutritional standards.
  • Know what children on site have documented allergies and ensure precautions are taken to prevent any allergic reactions.

Parents:

  • Provide parents with answers to questions on policies and programs of the Center in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate teacher/parent communication when needed.
  • Be available to parents at drop off and/or pick up to answer questions and address concerns.
  • Plan and coordinate events according to school calendar or as see fit.
  • As a leader of the program there is an expectation that parents will be able to engage with you during the opening and closing of each day (even throughout the day through phone calls/texts). Parents rely on Center leadership to answer any of their questions and gain a better understanding of their child's day.

General Administration:

  • Conduct and record monthly Fire Drills.
  • Know and implement State licensing and health requirements.
  • Report all licensing actions to the Owner immediately.
  • Implement and adhere to all written policies and philosophies.
  • Maintain a secure filing system for confidential records of children and staff and to ensure they are up-to-date regularly.
  • Maintain a sense of orderliness; keeping materials, supplies and equipment well organized and in good condition.
  • Office appearance should be neat, organized and inviting.
  • Open and/or close Center on a regular basis.
  • Maintain confidentiality of children and staff issues.
