This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who enjoys both accounting and operational leadership in a collaborative, professional law firm environment.

This position is highly visible within the firm and regularly interacts with partners, attorneys, and staff. We're looking for someone who is technically strong but also personable, approachable, and able to communicate financial information in a friendly, professional manner.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the firm's day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, trust accounting, billing, collections, cash management, and bank reconciliations.
  • Oversee the complete client billing process, including prebills, invoices, e-billing, collections, write-offs, and aged receivables.
  • Resolve billing, timekeeping, and origination issues while providing excellent internal customer service.
  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team, helping develop staff while maintaining a collaborative culture.
  • Partner with the Firm Administrator/Controller on month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and operational efficiencies.
  • Assist with partner compensation and serve as backup for payroll processing.
  • Coordinate banking relationships and support accounting system enhancements and software implementations.
  • Work closely with attorneys and firm leadership to provide accurate financial information and responsive support.

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of accounting experience within a law firm is required.
  • Strong understanding of legal billing, trust accounting, client cost accounting, and law firm financial operations.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with Juris or similar legal accounting software is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the firm.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive, service-oriented professional who enjoys solving problems and continuously improving processes.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Highly visible leadership role with direct exposure to firm leadership.
  • Opportunity to take ownership of key accounting functions and improve processes.
  • Stable, well-established law firm with a collaborative, team-oriented culture.
  • Competitive compensation package with bonus potential.
  • Opportunity for long-term professional growth.
