Medical Temporaries, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced ***Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor***.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience required.
This is a FULL TIME/DIRECT HIRE position requiring availability between the hours of 8AM-5:00PM, Monday through Friday, located in Virginia Beach, VA (23462).

Responsibilities:

A Day in the Life of a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor:

As a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor, you will facilitate individual and group counseling sessions for clients participating in Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) services. You will complete comprehensive assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, document progress notes and discharge summaries in a timely manner, and maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with state regulations, payer requirements, and accreditation standards. You will collaborate closely with the Clinical Director and multidisciplinary treatment team, participate in case staffing and treatment planning meetings, and help foster a positive, supportive, and patient-centered environment that promotes recovery and long-term success.

Requirements for the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor:

Required: Minimum of 1 year of experience facilitating substance use disorder groups within a treatment setting.
Required: Licensed or license-eligible in Virginia (CSAC, CSAC-S, LPC, LCSW, LMFT, Resident, or Supervisee with appropriate experience).
Required: Strong clinical documentation and written/verbal communication skills.
Required: Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Required: Passion for helping individuals achieve and maintain recovery.
Required: Ability to pass a Background Check and Drug Screen.
Required: Must be reliable, organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Preferred Qualifications for the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor:
Preferred: Experience working in a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and/or Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
Preferred: Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary treatment teams.
Preferred: Excellent organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills.
Preferred: Positive attitude with a commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Benefits:

$55,000-$70,000 annually (depending on licensure, experience, and qualifications)
