Position Summary

The Certified Medication Technician (CMT) provides safe, accurate medication administration while delivering compassionate, resident-centered care. Working under the supervision of a licensed nurse, the CMT assists residents with daily care needs, monitors resident conditions, and helps promote a safe and comfortable living environment.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications accurately in accordance with physician orders and state regulations

  • Observe residents for medication effectiveness and report changes in condition to the licensed nurse

  • Document medication administration accurately and timely

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed

  • Monitor residents for adverse medication reactions or changes in condition

  • Maintain accurate medication records and documentation

  • Follow infection prevention and infection control procedures

  • Communicate effectively with nurses, residents, families, and healthcare team members

  • Promote resident dignity, comfort, and independence

  • Ensure compliance with facility policies and state and federal regulations

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized medication cart and work area

Qualifications
  • Current Missouri Certified Medication Technician (CMT) certification required

  • Active Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification, if required by state regulations

  • Previous experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, assisted living, or healthcare preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

  • Compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
