Expanded Function Dental Assistant - EFDA

Are you a motivated, team-oriented & reliable EFDA looking for a place to grow, feel valued, and make an impact each day? We’re seeking an enthusiastic professional to join our practice and contribute to an exceptional patient experience!


Schedule:

Monday- Thursday 8AM-5PM
Temporary- Maternity Leave Coverage
September- December (12 weeks)

What You’ll Do

As a key member of our team, you will help support smooth, efficient, and comfortable patient care by:

  • Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry

  • Place and contour dental restorations under the supervision of a licensed dentist

  • Fabricate and cement temporary crowns and bridges

  • Take impressions and pour models for diagnostic and prosthetic purposes

  • Apply sealants and fluoride treatments as permitted

  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and maintain operatory cleanliness

  • Take and develop dental radiographs

  • Document patient records and update treatment notes in the practice management system

  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, postoperative care, and treatment plans

  • Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control guidelines

  • Collaborate with the dental and front office teams to ensure exceptional patient care


Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Completion of an accredited Expanded Functions Dental Assisting (EFDA) program

  • Active EFDA certification and state-specific licensure

  • Current CPR/BLS certification

  • Minimum 2 years of dental assisting experience

  • Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills


Preferred:

  • Proficiency in dental software systems (Denticon)


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and assist with procedures for extended periods

  • Manual dexterity and vision sufficient to operate dental tools and equipment

  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, and dental instruments

  • Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) required
