Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney
Location: New York, NY or Philadelphia, PA
Salary: $235,000–$365,000
Direct Counsel is seeking a Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney to join a leading Am Law firm with a nationally recognized real estate practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 2–5 years of commercial real estate finance experience who is looking to work on sophisticated, high-value financing transactions involving a wide range of asset classes while collaborating with an experienced and highly regarded team.
Responsibilities- Represent institutional lenders in complex commercial real estate financing transactions.
- Manage financing matters from initial structuring through closing.
- Draft, review, and negotiate loan documents and related financing agreements.
- Analyze title, survey, zoning, and other due diligence materials.
- Coordinate transactions with clients, opposing counsel, borrowers, and other stakeholders.
- Advise clients on a variety of commercial real estate financing structures and transactions.
- Work on construction loans, syndicated and securitized financings, mezzanine loans, intercreditor agreements, and co-lender arrangements.
- Assist with loan modifications, restructurings, and workout matters as needed.
- Utilize AI-powered legal technology and natural language platforms to enhance legal research, drafting, and workflow efficiency.
- J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- Active bar admission in the applicable jurisdiction or eligibility to obtain admission.
- 2–5 years of commercial real estate finance experience, preferably representing institutional lenders.
- Experience managing sophisticated financing transactions from inception through closing.
- Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial loan documentation.
- Familiarity with complex financing structures, including construction, syndicated, securitized, and mezzanine loans, is preferred.
- Experience with loan restructurings or workouts is a plus.
- Experience utilizing AI platforms and natural language technologies in legal practice.
- Excellent analytical, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Prior experience at a large regional, national, or international law firm is preferred.
- Competitive salary ranging from $235,000–$365,000, based on experience and qualifications.
