Jacksonville Arts & Music School (JAMS) is a Creative Youth Development organization committed to empowering the next generation of leaders through the arts, leadership training, and real-world experiences. Our What A Leader (WAL) program is a flagship leadership experience designed to build confidence, critical thinking, communication, professionalism, and relationship development through training, competition, and exposure.

Position Summary

The WAL Program Coordinator leads day-to-day program execution, ensuring a structured, consistent, and high-quality leadership experience. This role manages logistics, scheduling, and delivery while tracking student engagement, attendance, and growth across core competencies. They maintain strong communication with students, families, and partners, support program growth through relationship building, and collaborate with facilitators to ensure consistent implementation and uphold the JAMS LIFE WAY.


Key Responsibilities

Establish Trust

  • Build and maintain relationships with students, families, and partners
  • Serve as the primary communication point for WAL
  • Ensure clear, timely, and professional communication
  • Track attendance, participation, and engagement
  • Coordinate event communication, including the Victors Ceremony
  • Maintain a safe, structured environment
  • Support onboarding into WAL Institute

Cultivate Creativity

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with schools and community organizations
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics across partner sites
  • Execute engaging, high-quality programming
  • Collaborate with internal teams and site staff
  • Identify opportunities to improve engagement and delivery
  • Position WAL as a high-value experience within partner sites

Develop Leadership

  • Schedule and coordinate facilitators and guest speakers
  • Ensure sessions are staffed, prepared, and aligned with curriculum
  • Prepare facilitators with expectations and student context
  • Track student growth across competencies
  • Monitor conduct, engagement, and progression
  • Reinforce accountability and the JAMS LIFE WAY

Deepen Impact

  • Oversee program execution across multiple sites
  • Develop timelines, run-of-show documents, and logistics plans
  • Maintain records of student progress and competition scoring
  • Track and analyze attendance, engagement, and outcomes
  • Identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Ensure consistency across facilitators and locations
  • Support expansion of partnerships and program reach
  • Assist with digital platform tracking and reporting for leadership and funders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in a related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in program coordination, education, or youth development
  • Experience working with schools or community organizations preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across sites
  • Comfortable with data tracking and reporting
  • Level II background screening required
  • Reliable transportation

Working Conditions

  • On-site across JAMS and partner locations
  • Regular travel between sites
  • School Year: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Summer: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Occasional evenings and weekends for events
