Shrewsbury Rehabilitation and Nursing at Southgate, a 5-star rated facility, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. As a valued member of our staff, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a highly trained team of professionals to deliver exceptional rehabilitation services to our patients.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive treatments to patients under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, according to MA state practice guidelines
Assist in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly
Document patient participation and progress in an accurate and timely fashion, and obtain the co-signature of the Physical Therapist
Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications, and discharges
Assist with other documentation requirements as indicated and according to state guidelines
Attend facility and rehab meetings as needed
Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team
Participate in scheduling of patients as needed
Complete billing and bill patients ethically and accurately for physical therapy services rendered
Cover other therapists' patient caseload during absence as necessary
Supervise junior PTA staff members or students as needed
Maintain a professional relationship with co-workers, facility staff, patients, and patient families
Provide in-service education regarding patient care or physical therapy services to rehab staff, facility staff, hospitals, and/or community as needed
Comply with all facility and safety policies and procedures
Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours, and project a professional image at all times
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Physical Therapy recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
Holds current license and/or registration in the state of Massachusetts
Ability to transfer patients, lift weights, transport patients, and perform treatment on the mat
