Industrial Assembly Technician (Wire Rope Splicing)
Job Description
We are hiring an Industrial Assembly Technician for a well-established manufacturing company in Houston, TX.
This is a hands-on production position ideal for someone with experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, rigging, welding, machine operation, industrial maintenance, construction, oil & gas, offshore work, or other skilled trades. Previous wire rope splicing experience is a plus but not required. Candidates with strong mechanical aptitude who are comfortable using tools, machinery, and measuring devices are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
· Cut, measure, fabricate, and assemble wire rope according to customer specifications
· Install hardware including sockets, sleeves, hooks, thimbles, and fittings
· Perform hand and mechanical wire rope splicing
· Operate production equipment including presses, swagers, cutters, and measuring devices
· Use hand and power tools to complete industrial assemblies
· Read production orders, work instructions, measurements, and manufacturing documentation
· Select the proper materials and hardware for each job
· Inspect completed assemblies for quality, accuracy, wear, and defects
· Set up and safely operate shop machinery and production equipment
· Complete required production paperwork and maintain accurate records
· Assist with basic preventative maintenance and equipment upkeep
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area

Requirements:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Hands-on mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, construction, or skilled-trade experience
· Experience using hand tools and power tools
· Ability to accurately read tape measures and other measuring devices
· Comfortable operating or learning industrial machinery
· Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow detailed instructions
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
· Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing/shop environment
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a production team
· Valid Driver’s License
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
· Ability to stand for the majority of the shift
· Frequent use of hands and repetitive hand movements
· Ability to bend, twist, kneel, reach, and move throughout the workday
· Comfortable performing physical, hands-on work in a shop environment
