Structured Cabling Technician/Fiber Technician
Job Description
DP Communications, LLC is seeking an experienced Structured Cabling Technician Installer/ Fiber Technicians to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting structured cabling and fiber optic systems in commercial industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Install, route, terminate, label, and test Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling.
· Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, wiring diagrams, and project specifications.
· Install cable pathways, including conduit, cable tray, J-hooks, innerduct, and ladder rack.
· Perform fiber splicing, termination, testing, and certification using OTDR.
· Install telecommunications equipment, network racks, cabinets, patch panels, and associated hardware.
· Troubleshoot and resolve cabling and connectivity issues.
· Work well with other team members.
· Must be able to travel 20% to other states.
Required Qualifications:
· Minimum 2+ years of commercial or industrial structured cabling experience.
· Experience with structured cabling installations in commercial environments is required.
· Experience with fiber optic installation, termination, testing, or splicing is strongly preferred.
· Ability to read construction drawings and cable schedules.
· Experience installing cable support systems and network infrastructure.
· Strong understanding of TIA/EIA industry standards.
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders, lifts in ceilings, and industrial environments.
· Valid driver’s license/clean driving record.
· Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening and hair follicle.
This position comes with Health Insurance after the first 60 days. Company truck supplied with all tools needed. We will provide all FR clothing. You will receive 1 weeks’ vacation after the first 6 months and then another week after a year.
