The Mechanical Heavy Equipment Assembler plays a critical role in building and assembling custom engineered machinery by performing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic assembly tasks with precision and adherence to quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex and advanced assembly of machinery according to specifications and instructions
- Assemble mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components using hand and power tools
- Interpret written work instructions and schematics to ensure accurate assembly with zero scrap or rework
- Monitor equipment function and report any issues or substandard conditions to the supervisor
- Meet assembly timelines outlined in production orders
- Maintain focus on production orders and assembly duties throughout the workday
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment by complying with relevant policies and procedures
- Collaborate effectively within a small team of 2-5 members
Required Qualifications
- Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions independently with attention to accuracy
- Capable of reading schematics and assembly drawings
- Skilled in using jigs, fixtures, hand tools, machines, and test equipment in a fast-paced environment
- Capable of making necessary adjustments based on measurements or reporting non-conformance
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and use carts and hoists for moving products within the shop
