The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the overall operation, safety, and appearance of the property through preventative maintenance, repairs, and timely response to guest and team member requests. This role supports the hotel’s commitment to exceptional guest service by maintaining a clean, functional, and safe environment. Looking for the right reliable individual to fill this position.

Key Responsibilities

Preventative Maintenance

  • Perform routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces

  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules

  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation

Repairs & Troubleshooting

  • Respond promptly to service requests (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, fixtures, etc.)

  • Diagnose and repair equipment and systems efficiently

  • Perform minor carpentry, painting, drywall, and general repairs

Systems & Equipment

  • Monitor and maintain HVAC systems, boilers, water heaters, and electrical systems

  • Assist with life-safety systems (fire alarms, sprinklers, emergency lighting)

  • Ensure pool/spa systems (if applicable) are properly maintained

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all OSHA and company safety standards

  • Maintain an organized maintenance shop and storage areas

  • Assist with inspections from local/state authorities

Guest & Team Support

  • Provide courteous and professional service to guests

  • Communicate effectively with housekeeping and front desk teams

  • Support special projects and renovations as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • 1–3 years of maintenance experience (hotel experience preferred)

  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods

  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

Preferred Skills

  • HVAC knowledge a plus

  • Pool handling a plus

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented

Work Environment

  • Indoor and outdoor work conditions

  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and mechanical equipment

  • On-call or emergency response may be required
