Lakes Maintenance Technician

18.00 per hour starting wage

Tues-Fri 6a-4:30p 4/10 hour days

• Maintains daily aquatic weed control on golf courses and residential ponds.
• Maintains and installs various aeration systems.
• Maintains fish feeders.
• Assists with nuisance wildlife control and removal of dead fish and other animals from lakes.
• Maintains SOA littoral plantings and waterscaping.
• Maintains and operates aquatic weed harvesting equipment.
• Provide general small engine maintenance.

• Is consistently at work on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrives at meetings and appointments on time.
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, write reports, and comprehend procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software and internet software.
• Valid driver’s license.

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee is frequently required to walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
• The employee will be operating a boat.
• The employee needs to know how to back up a boat to place it into the lakes.

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.
• The employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

• Candidate must be bale to pass a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Records Check, Background Check and Drug Screen.
• Candidate must be able to use a medical respirator.
