Industrial Maintenance Technician III
Job Description
Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician III for our client in Portland, OR. This is a direct hire opportunity for an experienced, self-sufficient maintenance professional — whether your background is facilities maintenance or maintenance mechanics — who takes pride in fixing things right the first time. If you're a hands-on tech who can independently manage a facility, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, and coordinate outside contractors without needing a lot of direction, this one is worth a look. Candidates with a Limited Maintenance Electrical (LME) license are highly preferred.
Pay & Schedule
Pay: $38.00–$41.00/hr, DOE
Schedule: Swing Shift, Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM (training conducted on day shift; duration based on individual progress).
Responsibilities
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on facility and mechanical equipment, including HVAC, boilers, air compressors, scrubbers, water and wastewater treatment systems, nitrogen systems, wiring, and powered rigging equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment failures and correct root causes, rather than applying temporary fixes.
Conduct periodic equipment performance checks, efficiency reviews, and trend analysis of key operational indicators.
Prepare preventive maintenance reports and maintain accurate recordkeeping.
Use the facility's CMMS system to track, manage, and complete work orders.
Identify and recommend improvements to preventive maintenance tasks and procedures.
Coordinate and oversee third-party contractors for facility and equipment work.
Partner with Production and Process teams to schedule maintenance activities and minimize production impacts, including valve operations and equipment coordination.
Participate in emergency response and annual maintenance assignments.
Work occasionally in clean room environments and around chemicals.
Qualifications
7+ years of hands-on experience in facilities maintenance, maintenance mechanics, or a related industrial maintenance role.
Strong mechanical aptitude with advanced skills in pipe fitting, carpentry, electrical work, and/or industrial equipment repair.

Must acquire or maintain certification as a Hazardous Materials Technician per 29 CFR 1910.120(q)(6)(iii).
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and work orders.
Strong math skills and mechanical reasoning ability.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods in an industrial environment.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
