Position Summary - Quality Technician is responsible for maintaining quality-assurance processes, testing products and recording and analyzing results data during product development and manufacturing.


Qualifications, Experience, Skills/Knowledge

  • Two-year degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing or mechanical field
  • Quality Certification Preferred or Six Sigma accreditation, preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Experience with ISO Standards preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, communication and analytical skills.
  • Basic to Intermediate computer skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.


Key Accountabilities

  • Under minimal supervision, this position will perform a variety of visual and dimensional inspection of components and completed assemblies to determine precise conformance to specifications, tolerances and workmanship standards.
  • Performs in-process audits and or internal audits and participates in the validation of inspection fixtures and methods and process reports through change control process.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints and technical specifications for mechanical and electrical assemblies.
  • Inspects parts involving numerous precision tolerance dimensions, coordinated dimensions, irregular surfaces and contours which must be inspected by precision measuring instruments from surface plate set ups where no inspection jigs or fixtures are available.
  • Supports manufacturing shop engineers, managers, and operators with customer and supplier issues.
  • Maintains all gauges and test machines; performs routine testing to ensure quality and adherence to regulations and standards.
  • Maintains calibration equipment and ensures calibration
  • Supports creation of procedures and work instructions
  • Leads safe work habits in accordance with OSHA and GEO-specific Health and Safety expectations


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely perform related physical demands of the position
  • Bending, lifting, stooping, and standing greater than 50% of the time
  • Repetitive motion demands hands/wrist/shoulder
  • Ability to lift up-to 50 pounds (over 50 pounds requires team lift)


Work Environment/Environmental Conditions

  • Occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals, fumes, and gases
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
  • Walking surfaces: Outdoor areas ramps and rough/uneven terrain
