Human Resources (HR) Manager
Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced HR Manager to support HR operations at a manufacturing plant in Wheeling, IL. This is a 4-5 month contract with potential for extension. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working in a hands-on setting, partnering with plant leadership, and supporting a workforce that has deep tenure and established ways of working. This individual will play a key role in day-to-day HR support, employee communication, benefits-related questions, and HR/payroll system coordination. The right candidate will be approachable, detail-oriented, and capable of building trust with employees.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day HR operational support in a manufacturing plant environment
- Serve as a visible HR presence by walking the floor and building relationships with employees
- Support employee communication initiatives, including monthly town halls and business meetings
- Answer employee questions related to benefits, policies and general HR matters
- Partner with the payroll team and support payroll-related HR processes using ADP Workforce Now
- Assist with employee relations matters in partnership with HR leadership
- Support recruiting activity for open positions as needed
- Work closely with plant leadership to help improve communication, engagement and overall employee experience
- Maintain accurate HR records and ensure strong attention to detail across all processes
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now
- Strong HR operations experience
- Background supporting a manufacturing environment
- Ability to support employees through change in a long-established work environment
- Experience partnering with a payroll team and understanding payroll-related processes
- Employee relations experience
- Comfortable working in a highly visible, on-site HR role
- Strong attention to detail
