Robert Half is partnering with a local healthcare organization in the New Haven area to identify a detail-oriented and customer-focused Patient Access Facilitator for a contract assignment. This position plays a key role in creating a positive patient experience by managing registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and front-end administrative support.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
- Complete patient registration and maintain accurate demographic information
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage prior to appointments
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
- Obtain required authorizations and referrals as needed
- Collect co-pays and process patient payments in accordance with organizational procedures
- Review and update patient records to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Assist patients with completing necessary forms and documentation
- Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries
- Coordinate with clinical staff and other departments to support efficient patient flow
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in patient access, patient registration, medical reception, healthcare customer service, or a related healthcare administrative role preferred
- Knowledge of insurance verification and healthcare registration processes
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
