Trial Attorney
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced trial attorney to join a growing personal injury litigation team in Los Angeles, California.
This position focuses on plaintiff-side injury matters from the point a case enters litigation through resolution, with support from a dedicated legal staff. The role is well suited to a lawyer who is confident in courtroom preparation, case strategy, and negotiation, and who wants to contribute within a collaborative boutique firm environment.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee a portfolio of active personal injury litigation matters, guiding each case from filing through settlement, mediation, or trial.
• Develop litigation strategy by preparing pleadings, drafting motions, managing written discovery, and coordinating deposition work.
• Review medical documentation and case evidence to assess damages, liability, and overall claim value.
• Negotiate with opposing counsel and insurance representatives to pursue favorable resolutions for clients.
• Prepare thoroughly for trial proceedings, including witness coordination, exhibit review, and courtroom support as needed.
• Work closely with paralegals and other support professionals assigned to the litigation team to keep matters progressing efficiently.
• Use firm technology platforms, including case management and Microsoft-based tools, to maintain accurate files and communication.
• Partner with firm leadership on case evaluation, litigation planning, and advancement of plaintiff personal injury matters.
• At least 5 years of litigation experience, with the majority of that experience focused on personal injury matters.• Active attorney license in good standing.
• Prior second-chair trial experience in civil litigation.
• Demonstrated ability to draft motions, briefs, and other core litigation documents.
• Strong working knowledge of discovery practice, depositions, and pre-trial preparation.
• Experience handling plaintiff-side personal injury cases, including motor vehicle accident and premises liability claims.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining strong attention to detail and client advocacy.
