We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead financial operations for a services organization in Fresno, California. This role combines strategic oversight with daily accounting leadership, ensuring accurate reporting, sound controls, and dependable cash management. The position works closely with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to support business performance, budgeting, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
• Lead day-to-day accounting activities across the general ledger, payables, receivables, payroll, fixed assets, and account reconciliations.
• Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, highlighting key results, emerging risks, and areas for improvement.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close cycles to ensure timely, accurate recording of financial activity.
• Direct the annual budget process and prepare forward-looking forecasts to support operational and strategic planning.
• Track departmental spending against approved budgets and recommend adjustments when performance varies from plan.
• Manage cash position planning, banking relationships, and financial analysis related to capital projects or business initiatives.
• Strengthen accounting procedures and internal controls to promote accuracy, compliance, and effective financial stewardship.
• Monitor customer or member account balances, support collections activity, and help maintain healthy receivables.
• Partner with leadership, external auditors, and other business contacts to support audits, reporting needs, and financial decision-making.• 5+ years of accounting or finance experience, including leadership responsibility in a manager or supervisor capacity.
• Strong knowledge of month-end close, general ledger oversight, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience preparing financial statements, supporting audits, and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Hands-on background in payroll administration, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes.
• Ability to analyze financial results, develop budgets and forecasts, and communicate recommendations clearly to leadership.
• Solid understanding of internal controls, compliance practices, and cash management principles.
• Proficiency in accounting systems and spreadsheet-based financial analysis tools.
