School-Based Physical Therapist - White Rock, New Mexico
Job Description
Work directly with students in a rewarding school-based setting as a part-time Physical Therapist for the upcoming academic year. This contract opportunity allows you to make a significant impact on students in a supportive environment near White Rock, NM.
In this role, you will provide services to three students (a kindergartener, a 5th grader, and a 6th grader), averaging about three hours weekly. The schedule is flexible, with most previous therapists completing sessions over one day each week. You'll collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to help students reach their full potential and promote success in their educational environment. The position runs from mid-August through late May, aligning with the school year calendar.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Physical Therapist (PT) licensure
- Current NMPED license (or eligibility prior to start)
- Experience with pediatric or school-based populations is preferred
- Strong communication skills for working with students, educators, and families
- Ability to write clear documentation and maintain records compliant with state and federal requirements
Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ physical therapy needs in an educational context
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Deliver therapy services to three students across elementary and middle school ages
- Maintain indirect time for documentation, collaboration, and service coordination
- Consult and collaborate with staff, parents, and other therapists to support holistic student development
