Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join a detail-oriented services team in California. This permanent, office-based role is ideal for a highly organized legal specialist who can support complex litigation matters from early case development through trial and appeal support. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys on document-intensive matters, legal research, discovery coordination, and courtroom preparation.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct legal and factual research, assemble case chronologies, and organize supporting materials for active litigation and pre-litigation matters.
• Coordinate the intake, collection, and management of evidence from clients, opposing parties, and third-party sources throughout discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Prepare draft pleadings, motions, declarations, meet-and-confer correspondence, and discovery requests and responses for attorney review.
• Analyze documents, deposition transcripts, and discovery materials to create summaries, identify key issues, and support case strategy development.
• Partner with attorneys, experts, witnesses, and technology contacts to manage exhibits, expert-related document exchange, deposition preparation, and appearance logistics.
• Support trial and hearing readiness by organizing exhibits, witness lists, pre-trial binders, jury materials, and other evidentiary submissions.
• Assist with cite checking, record references, and preparation of materials related to dispositive motions, appeals, arbitration, and trial proceedings.
• Maintain litigation calendars and track deadlines across multiple courts, tribunals, and administrative forums while coordinating schedules for a legal team.
• Work with internal departments to improve workflow efficiency, strengthen communication, and support consistent legal operations across matters.• At least 3 years of paralegal experience, with strong preference for substantially more experience supporting complex civil litigation matters.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and priorities while adapting to different attorney work styles and deadlines.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a high level of professionalism.
• Excellent attention to detail, particularly when reviewing, organizing, and revising legal documents and evidentiary materials.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and litigation case management or document review platforms.
• Experience with discovery, trial preparation, and civil litigation support, including drafting and document management responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree and/or completion of a paralegal certificate program from an approved institution.
• Familiarity with legal research tools such as Westlaw and Lexis, along with knowledge of court rules, filing procedures, and legal billing practices.
