Topre America is seeking a skilled and motivated Gorika Technician to join our Press Department team in Springfield, Ohio. This position is ideal for an experienced manufacturing professional with strong troubleshooting, fabrication, and problem-solving skills who enjoys working independently while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.


The Gorika Technician will support press operations by identifying process improvements, troubleshooting floor issues, improving production efficiency, and assisting with equipment and tooling improvements.

Position Summary

The Gorika Technician is responsible for analyzing manufacturing processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, supporting production goals, and assisting with technical projects within the Press Department.


This role requires a self-motivated individual who can manage multiple projects, work independently with minimal supervision, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve safety, quality, productivity, and overall department performance.

Key Responsibilities


Process Improvement & Production Support

  • Analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve press department performance.
  • Develop and execute short-term and long-term improvement plans.
  • Identify process improvements to increase SPM (Strokes Per Minute) and production efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot floor issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Support production teams with technical guidance and problem-solving.
  • Define goals, measurements, and success criteria for improvement projects.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and Kaizen activities.
  • Help establish and maintain standard work practices.


Fabrication & Technical Skills

  • Read and create mechanical drawings.
  • Perform metal fabrication activities.
  • Operate power tools and hand tools.
  • Perform MIG welding.
  • Assist with equipment modifications and improvements.
  • Operate milling machines and lathes preferred.
  • Operate forklifts and overhead cranes as needed.


Leadership & Team Development

  • Train, coach, and support team members.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to production personnel.
  • Promote teamwork and accountability.
  • Assist in developing team capabilities and improving employee performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve department goals.
  • Communicate project progress, challenges, and results to leadership.


Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide leadership during problem-solving activities.
  • Identify barriers impacting production and develop action plans.
  • Coordinate resources to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Support successful Kaizen events and ensure improvements are sustained.
  • Utilize data and observations to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Assist with implementing solutions that improve safety, quality, and productivity.


Required Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing experience required.
  • Press experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and scheduled shutdowns.
  • Ability to work any shift as required.
  • Strong attendance record and dependability.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Press Department experience.
  • Metal fabrication experience.
  • MIG welding experience.
  • Experience operating mills and lathes.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Overhead crane experience.
  • Leadership or team lead experience.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or continuous improvement initiatives.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform hands-on tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to safely operate tools and equipment.
  • Ability to lift and handle materials as required.
  • Ability to work around industrial machinery and production equipment.
