The Construction Project Manager is a senior-level role responsible for managing civil land development projects through all phases of construction. This position requires strong technical expertise, project ownership, and leadership to deliver high-quality outcomes on schedule and within budget while mentoring junior staff and supporting business development. This position requires the following at a minimum:
Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Preparing and overseeing quantity takeoffs, estimates, budgets, and schedules from conception through construction closeout.
- Performing constructability and value engineering reviews during design.
- Developing bid documents, scope of work, and special provisions for contract documents.
- Managing the full construction phase, including contractor scheduling and coordination of earthwork, utilities, concrete, asphalt, landscape, and irrigation activities.
- Coordinating construction matters between owners, contractors, agencies, and stakeholders.
- Administering construction tasks: managing meetings and minutes, reviewing payment applications and change orders, and tracking RFIs and submittals.
- Conducting punch list walks and coordinating project closeout and jurisdictional acceptances.
- Supervising and mentoring associates, delegating tasks, and fostering professional development.
- Supporting business development through client networking and proposal preparation.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field; or equivalent horizontal civil construction experience.
- Minimum 6+ years of civil land development construction management experience.
- PMP or CCM certification a plus.
- Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Project, and AGTEK preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and contract law understanding.
- Valid driver's license required.
Competencies
Technical Knowledge & Skills
- Demonstrating a strong ability to interpret, review, and evaluate construction documents and drawings, identifying discrepancies and providing direction to contractors and team members.
- Maintaining working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D for plan viewing and basic navigation to effectively communicate design intent and field conditions.
- Maintaining proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook to support project documentation, budget tracking, and stakeholder correspondence.
- Demonstrating proficiency in construction management platforms, scheduling tools, and estimating software such as Procore, Microsoft Project, and AGTEK to manage projects from bid through closeout.
Work Execution, Accountability & Problem Solving
- Maintaining a high standard of accuracy by reviewing all deliverables, estimates, and documentation before distribution to minimize errors and reduce field issues.
- Organizing project files, contracts, and correspondence in accordance with the company's file naming and filing standards to ensure consistency across the project team.
- Actively managing project goals, schedules, and budgets while proactively communicating changes or risks to stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Demonstrating strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously without compromising quality.
- Taking initiative as a self-starter who proactively resolves field and contract issues, takes ownership of outcomes, and drives tasks to completion with minimal oversight.
- Seeking to understand the broader objectives of each project, aligning construction phase decisions with the client's goals and the firm's standards for quality.

- This position is in-person at our office in Littleton, Colorado.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer workstation
