The Montessori Lead Teacher will play a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing and educational environment at a private Montessori school. This position involves guiding young learners through Montessori principles while collaborating with staff and engaging with parents to enhance the growth and development of each child.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the classroom to create a supportive Montessori learning environment
  • Develop and implement curriculum aligned with Montessori principles
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities
  • Maintain effective classroom management ensuring a positive and productive atmosphere
  • Collaborate with staff to coordinate teaching strategies and classroom operations
  • Plan detailed lessons that cater to individual student needs
  • Observe and assess children’s developmental progress and adapt approaches accordingly

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of Lead Teacher experience working with children ages 3–6 years in a licensed preschool, childcare center, or early childhood education program.
  • Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field OR a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential.
  • Strong understanding of child development, classroom management, and developmentally appropriate teaching practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field.
  • Montessori teaching experience or Montessori certification (AMS, AMI, or MACTE) preferred.
  • Experience mentoring assistant teachers and partnering with families.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Expertise in Montessori teaching methods
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of child development
  • Experience with curriculum planning
  • Excellent communication skills
