Clinic Surgery Scheduler

The Surgery Scheduler plays a crucial role within the surgery department’s support team by managing the scheduling of surgical appointments and coordinating effectively with a multidisciplinary scheduling team. This position requires regular daily interaction with surgeons and medical staff to ensure seamless scheduling operations and optimal patient flow without any travel requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate surgical appointment scheduling and rescheduling
• Communicate with patients to confirm appointments and provide relevant information
• Manage scheduling calendars and resolve conflicts efficiently
• Enter and maintain accurate patient and appointment data
• Verify patient insurance information prior to appointments
• Schedule necessary follow-up visits
• Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary scheduling team and surgery department staff
• Resolve scheduling conflicts and ensure smooth patient flow

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in physician office medical scheduling
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Familiarity with scheduling software and Electronic Health Records (EHR)
• Strong customer service skills
• Effective communication and time management abilities
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
