Corrosion Technician - POMPTON PLAINS, NJ

You'll play a critical part in ensuring the integrity and longevity of infrastructure. This position involves conducting inspections, monitoring corrosion rates, and applying protective coatings. Through data collection and analysis, you'll help identify potential risks and implement corrective actions to protect vital infrastructure.

Minimum Qualifications:

• AMPP (NACE) CP1 with 2 years related experience or 5 years of field experience in the corrosion industry
• Must be able to read maps and GPS
• Must be proficient in field data acquisition / troubleshooting
• Must be able to communicate effectively
• Must be detail oriented with strong organization and planning skills
• Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to work outdoors and walk for long distances on uneven terrain

Preferred Qualifications:

• CIP 1
• Experience using American Innovations tools (Allegro, PCS, Bullhorn)

Responsibilities:

• Conduct CP testing, including (but not limited to) structure-to-soil potential, soil resistivity, and current requirement testing.
• Conduct rectifier maintenance inspections, including necessary troubleshooting, adjustments, and repairs
• Use test equipment, including pipe/cable locaters, multimeters, clamp-on ammeters, electrical isolation meters, and various hand and power tools.
• Maintain truck, tools, and equipment.
• Produce client reports.
• Deliver weekly verbal reports at staff meetings regarding project status.
• Coordinate communication with the client.
• Recognize and relay sales opportunities and represent the company in client interactions.
• This position includes regular travel, sometimes for long periods of time (two week intervals). Per diem and travel expenses paid while traveling.

• Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces, such as trenches, pits, and manholes
• Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull objects up to 50 pounds regularly
• Must be able to climb stairs, ramps and ladders regularly
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, or drive for long periods of time (1-3 hours).
• Must be able to see, hear, and respond quickly to dangerous situations
• Must be comfortable working outdoors, including in extreme weather conditions.
• Must be comfortable around moving machinery, vehicles, and heavy equipment.
• Must be comfortable wearing personal protective gear most of the day (safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, hard hat, gloves, safety vest, FRCs).

Compensation Range: $28.75 - $38.81 per hour
