About the Role:

As the Electrical Division Manager, you will be responsible for establishing and leading the company's electrical division, ensuring all residential electrical work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will oversee projects from initial planning through completion, manage resources and schedules, and provide hands-on support while the department grows. Your role will have a direct impact on the company's ability to expand its smart home offerings and deepen relationships with builders and homeowners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and develop the electrical division, including processes, workflows, and best practices for residential projects.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage electrical projects, ensuring work is completed on time, within scope, and in compliance with all codes and regulations.
  • Oversee and review electrical work related to home automation, audio/video, security systems, lighting controls, and EV charger installations.
  • Dispatch and coordinate technicians from the office, balancing workloads and ensuring efficient use of resources across the local service area.
  • Perform hands-on field work as needed while the division grows, supporting complex installations and troubleshooting issues.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with builders, contractors, and key partners to secure ongoing and future project opportunities.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership for electricians and technicians, including mentoring, performance oversight, and promoting a culture of safety and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with sales and management to support business development initiatives and provide technical input on proposals and project scopes.

Key Requirements:

  • Licensed electrician with substantial residential electrical experience.
  • Proven experience managing or leading electrical projects, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating field teams.
  • Strong understanding of residential electrical systems, including panel work, circuits, and device installations.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with NEC, local codes, and safety regulations.
  • Comfortable interacting with builders, contractors, and homeowners in a professional and consultative manner.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership mindset with a track record of taking initiative, solving problems, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable in a role that blends office-based coordination with occasional field work.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with home automation systems, including integration of electrical infrastructure with smart home platforms.
  • Background in audio/video, security systems, and lighting control installations in residential environments.
  • Familiarity with EV charger installations and associated electrical requirements.
  • Exposure to or experience with Control4 or similar smart home systems.
  • Previous involvement in business development, estimating, or supporting sales for electrical or low-voltage projects.
  • Experience building or growing a department, team, or new service line within a trade or technology-focused business.

Qualifications:

  • Current state electrician's license (required).
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Additional certifications related to home automation, low-voltage systems, or smart home platforms (preferred).
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
