Position Summary

University Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Equipment Specialist to support and maintain advanced imaging technologies across our healthcare system. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of radiology equipment that directly impacts patient diagnosis and care.

As a key member of our Biomedical Engineering team, you will work closely with radiology staff, physicians, and leadership to support a wide range of imaging systems including X-ray, CT, and other specialized diagnostic equipment. Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, service, calibrate, and repair radiology and imaging equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and complex repairs on diagnostic imaging systems

  • Partner with radiology leadership, technologists, and physicians to support clinical operations

  • Ensure compliance with The Joint Commission and other regulatory standards

  • Perform preventive maintenance and system testing to minimize downtime

  • Document all service activities, repairs, and calibrations accurately

  • Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers for equipment support and upgrades

  • Support new equipment installations, upgrades, and system implementations

Education & Experience
  • Associate degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology or related field, or equivalent training and experience required

  • Bachelors degree in a related field preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a biomedical or imaging equipment environment required

  • 7+ years preferred, especially supporting radiology/imaging systems

Preferred Qualifications
  • ICC Certification for Radiology Equipment (CRES) strongly preferred

  • Experience supporting imaging systems such as X-ray, CT, or similar modalities

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and healthcare compliance requirements

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across clinical and technical teams
