JOB SUMMARY:
Replace or repair electronic, electrical, and/or electromechanical components of industrial control assemblies, in both field service and service center settings
Promote strong company image through extensive and direct customer contact.
WORK PERFORMED:
- Analyze various manufacturers’ schematic diagrams.
- Troubleshoot and test electronic components to board level, using various methods and testing equipment.
- Follow company procedures for requisitioning and charging materials and parts.
- Repair and/or replace electronic components to board level, including but not limited to: diodes, transistors, resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, other printed circuit components, etc.
- Verify repairs using various start-up testing procedures.
- Operate specialized equipment, including but not limited to: oscilloscopes, megaohmmeters, high-voltage insulation testers, AC/DC volt-ohm-milliammeters, clamp-on ammeters, frequency generators, signal generators, capacitance meters, various test panels, soldering equipment, infrared scanning equipment, various kinds of hand-held power and non-power tools, etc.
- Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear (especially eye and ear protection).
- Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis.
- Keep work area neat and clean as directed by supervisor.
- Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by supervisor.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Basic understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Strong business communication skills and ability to promote professional image.
- Knowledge of AC and DC motors and motor application.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred minimum level of education/ experience: associate’s degree in electronics, or equivalent on-the-job training.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; talk and hear.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Clearly see 20+ feet with or without corrective lenses. Have ability for close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
