Expanded Duties Dental Assistant

Job Summary: Assists dentist during examination and treatment of patients

Job Accountability:

• Prepares patient for examination and treatment procedures
• Sterilizes instruments, disinfects treatment areas
• Records medical and dental history of patient
• Takes digital radiographs
• Takes dental impressions, pours models
• Instructs patients on appropriate oral hygiene techniques
• Records treatment and examination reports in patient records
• May schedule appointments, as directed
• Performs other duties and tasks, as directed
• Deliver quality and compassionate care to every patient
• Responsible for operational readiness of the treatment rooms
• Mix dental materials and prepare impression materials
• Guide patients through the process before treatment as necessary

Job Qualifications:

• Minimum education: High School Diploma
• Minimum experience: 12 months job experience or completion of a dental assisting program
