Electrician/Estimator (COMPENSATION BASED ON EXPERIENCE)
Job Description
Position Summary
Precision Approach LLC is seeking a highly motivated and versatile electrical professional to join our growing team. This position is ideal for an experienced electrician who is looking to expand into estimating and project management while remaining actively involved in field operations. The successful candidate will split time between the office and project sites throughout the Southeast, providing estimating support, managing projects, coordinating materials and subcontractors, and performing electrical installations as needed.
This is a travel-intensive position requiring flexibility, strong organizational skills, and the ability to successfully manage multiple responsibilities in both office and field environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Estimating
· Review construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
· Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
· Assist in developing bid proposals and pricing packages.
· Assist with value engineering and constructability reviews.
· Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits.
Project Management
· Manage multiple electrical projects from award through closeout.
· Coordinate project schedules, manpower, equipment, and materials.
· Monitor project budgets, labor productivity, and job costs.
· Prepare and process change orders.
· Review submittals, RFIs, and project documentation.
· Coordinate with owners, general contractors, engineers, inspectors, and suppliers.
· Support project billing, forecasting, and closeout documentation.
· Ensure compliance with contract requirements and company standards.
Field Operations
· Perform electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs as required.
· Install underground conduit systems, airfield lighting, electrical distribution systems, and associated equipment.
· Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
· Supervise field crews when assigned.
· Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with NEC, project specifications, and company quality standards.
· Assist with equipment commissioning, testing, and project punch list completion.
Administrative Responsibilities
· Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
· Prepare daily reports, schedules, and progress updates.
· Coordinate deliveries and equipment logistics.
· Utilize Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and project management software.
· Communicate effectively with office staff, field personnel, clients, and vendors.
Qualifications
· Journeyman or Master Electrician preferred.
· Minimum 5 years of commercial, industrial, utility, or airfield electrical construction experience.
· Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
· Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
· Experience with underground utility installations, or airfield electrical systems is a plus.
· Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
· Lift and carry up to seventy-five (75) pounds.
· Stand, walk, climb, kneel, and work outdoors for extended periods.
· Work in varied weather conditions.
· Ability to safely operate construction tools and equipment.
Travel Requirements
· Travel is required approximately 50–60%, depending on project workload.
· Overnight travel throughout the southeastern United States should be expected.
· Company vehicle or travel reimbursement, lodging, and per diem are provided in accordance with company policy.
Requirements
· Must successfully pass a comprehensive pre-employment background investigation.
· Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and participate in random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with company policy.
· Must maintain a drug-free workplace at all times.
· Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and be insurable under the company's vehicle insurance policy.
· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
· Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and access badges required to work at commercial, municipal, military, and general aviation airports.
· Must maintain a professional appearance and conduct while representing the company on customer job sites.
