Dental Assistant

The Dental Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting dental professionals by preparing patients, managing equipment, and assisting with various dental procedures. This role typically involves direct or indirect supervision and focuses on general dentistry, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry. The Dental Assistant ensures a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for patients and dental staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for dental procedures and ensure their comfort
• Sterilize dental instruments and maintain infection control protocols
• Set up and manage dental equipment for various procedures
• Assist dentists during general, oral surgery, and pediatric procedures
• Manage inventory of dental supplies and materials
• Assist with dental X-rays and radiography tasks
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with documentation

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in dental assisting
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Dental Assistant Certification (if applicable)
• Knowledge of infection control and sterilization techniques
• Familiarity with dental radiography
• Strong patient communication skills
• Understanding of anatomy relevant to dental care
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a dental team
• Excellent time management skills
