Dental Assistant
Job Description
A Dental Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting dentists and ensuring smooth clinical operations. Working within a small team of 1-3 assistants, this role involves daily patient interactions and collaboration with both the Dentist and Office Manager. The assistant helps prepare patients, manages sterilization and infection control, assists with radiography, and maintains accurate records using Open Dental Software.
Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures
- Prepare patients for treatments and ensure their comfort
- Perform sterilization and infection control protocols
- Take dental impressions as required
- Maintain accurate patient records using Open Dental Software
- Manage dental inventory and supplies
- Assist with dental radiography procedures
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in dental assisting
- CPR certification
- Proficient in dental radiography and infection control practices
- Strong patient care skills and knowledge of sterilization techniques
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Attention to detail
- Coachable
- Spanish speaking skills are a plus
