Dental Assistant
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced dental assistant to join our team. As a dental assistant, you should be reliable, dependable, and able to build trust with patients as you assist with treatments. You must exhibit integrity, excellent team-building skills, professionalism, and the ability to communicate effectively. Proficiency in assisting with periodontal nonsurgical and surgical procedures, including dental implants, is required. Willingness and enthusiasm to promote good oral health, including delivering patient education and oral hygiene instructions, are essential. Clinical expertise and knowledge are required for this full-time position, along with some experience in the front office. Experience with DSN software is helpful. Responsibilities:
Ensuring patients feel as comfortable as possible
Taking vital signs
Taking x-rays
Assisting with obtaining dental and medical health history
Assisting with initial periodontal examinations and re-evaluation procedures
Knowing periodontal and dental implant surgical instruments
Assisting with nonsurgical and surgical periodontal procedures and dental implant surgeries
Assisting with managing the daily work schedule
Giving postoperative instructions to patients after periodontal procedures
Exhibiting excellent communication with patients and other members of the team
Assisting with the front office as needed
Providing support for the office team
Having good judgment and proactiveness
Requirements
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and practices.
Familiarity with medical imaging techniques, including X-ray operations.
Experience working in a periodontal practice is advantageous.
Having excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential.
Certification in Dental Assisting or a relevant qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
