Job Description
Job Summary This position is responsible for helping clients enroll in health insurance programs, registering new and established patients for services, conducting outreach to established clients, assisting patients with payment plans, and providing backup support for front desk operations. The role supports patient access to healthcare services, enrollment programs, registration activities, and outreach initiatives while contributing to a team-based care environment. Key Responsibilities • Meet with new and established clients to provide information about available services and assist with enrollment into health insurance programs and available coverage programs. • Register new and established patients for services. • Greet patients and assist with completing required forms. • Conduct outreach calls to established clients and encourage utilization of available services. • Conduct outreach calls and mailings to newly enrolled managed care members. • Develop and support initiatives aimed at reducing no-show appointments. • Provide backup support for reception and medical records functions as needed. • Assist clients in developing payment plans when necessary. • Compile monthly statistics and reports. • Prepare eligibility and registration reports. • Create and maintain new patient registration packets. • Confirm patient appointments. • Monitor voicemail, return calls, and schedule new patient appointments. • Maintain schedules for eligibility-related services. • Assist patients with health coverage applications. • Assist eligible applicants with enrollment processes for available health plans. • Attend outreach events as needed. • Participate in team-based care activities. • Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications • Associate degree in a medical-related field or comparable experience. • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical setting in a similar role. • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently. • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedure codes, diagnosis codes, and medical records handling. • Certified Enrollment Counselor training or willingness to complete required training within 3 months of hire. • Knowledge of federal and state health programs and qualified health plans. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and related computer applications. • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and patient registries. • Flexibility, initiative, reliability, and creativity. • Willingness to cross-train for reception and medical records functions. • Excellent customer service skills. • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within diverse environments. • Demonstrated ability to perform multiple administrative functions accurately, efficiently, and simultaneously. • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced and changing environment. • Ability to carry out responsibilities in an ethical, professional, and responsible manner. • Valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record. Preferred Qualifications • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish. • Experience working with diverse and underserved populations. • Experience conducting outreach and enrollment activities.
