Job Description

Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Sr. Accountant to join our team. This role is ideal for an accounting specialist who enjoys managing complex ledger activity, supporting a timely close process, and strengthening financial accuracy across the organization. The position also offers the opportunity to contribute to acquisition-related accounting work and help improve processes within a collaborative, growth-focused environment.

Responsibilities:
• Manage designated balance sheet and income statement accounts, including more technical areas such as debt activity, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, rent, and lease accounting, while maintaining accurate entries and organized support schedules.
• Contribute to the monthly close by preparing journal entries, completing reconciliations, recording accruals, and investigating fluctuations to ensure reliable financial results.
• Assist with acquisition integration activities by reviewing acquired opening balances, validating trial balance data, supporting purchase accounting adjustments, and reconciling amounts to transaction documents.
• Create and refine accounting procedures, close workflows, and documentation practices that improve consistency, scalability, and efficiency across the finance function.
• Prepare recurring internal financial reporting materials and management summaries, and support external reporting needs such as lender-related compliance submissions.
• Partner on internal control efforts by identifying areas of risk and helping strengthen accounting procedures and related documentation.
• Perform targeted financial analysis, research accounting guidance for non-routine matters, and contribute to special projects as business needs arise.
• Support productivity improvements by identifying opportunities to use automation, AI, and other tools to streamline accounting processes.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• At least 3 years of progressive accounting experience, with public accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and the ability to evaluate and apply accounting guidance to more complex transactions.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliation processes.
• Background in preparing audit support and working directly with external auditors.
• Advanced Excel skills are required; experience with JD Edwards or a comparable ERP platform is preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and collaborate effectively across teams.
• Exposure to acquisition accounting, including opening balance sheet review or purchase price allocation support, is preferred.
