Pit Crew Member

Butcher Paper BBQ is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Pit position.

Members of Butcher Paper’s Pit Crew are responsible for ensuring that every bite of food that comes out of the Kitchen meets our high standard. As a member of the Pit Crew, you will be responsible for cooking all our BBQ proteins as well as making all our made from scratch sides and sauces. You will be working with our Management Team to execute a daily prep list.

A Pit Crew position has a specific role that requires acute attention to detail and a drive for perfection. You will be working with tools and equipment such as knives, torches, fire, heavy equipment, and large cases that are dangerous and require safety measures to be taken at all times.

As a Pit Crew member, you will be trained and expected to be able to perform the following tasks:

· Trimming and prepping meats, including brisket, pork butts, ribs, and chicken

· Building and maintaining a wood fire

· Operating an offset smoker

· Dishwashing

· Reading and following recipes with precision

· Cleaning and maintaining Kitchen and Pit area

· Logging in and breaking down delivery trucks

This is a full-time position, and you must be available to work early mornings and Saturdays, along with occasional evening/closing shifts. Hours may vary, but we will work with you and your schedule to ensure your workload is appropriate for your needs. A Pit Crew position also requires that you are able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs, bend, twist, reach, and stand on your feet for an entire shift.

Full-time training pay is $13 per hour plus tips. After an adequate training period, you will be eligible for Catering and Food Truck shifts along with a pay raise. Starting pay for full-time after training is $16 per hour plus tips.
