Service Shop Foreman

About the role Seeking an experienced shop foreman to supervise a busy tractor and heavy-equipment shop. You’ll keep technicians productive, ensure work is recorded and billed correctly, assist techs with technical information, and manage parts/supplies processes.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily work of shop technicians; assign tasks and monitor progress
• Ensure service work is documented accurately (work orders, timecards, service logs)
• Verify parts and supplies are charged to the correct jobs and reconcile inventory usage
• Assist technicians in troubleshooting and locating technical information/specs
• Maintain shop standards for safety, cleanliness, and tool/equipment organization
• Train and mentor technicians; enforce company policies and procedures
• Communicate with parts department and management about parts needs and backorders
• Support scheduling and prioritize jobs to meet customer expectations

Required qualifications

• 3+ years supervisory experience in a heavy-equipment, agricultural, or tractor shop (or equivalent)
• Hands-on knowledge of heavy equipment and farm equipment service and repair
• Strong organizational skills and attention to accurate record-keeping and billing
• Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and use online technical resources
• Good communication and leadership skills; able to keep a team on task
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred where applicable

Preferred qualifications

• ASE or manufacturer-specific certifications
• Experience with shop management software or digital work-order systems
• Welding/fabrication skills
