Roles and Responsibilities
Warehouse & Material Flow Operations

  • Direct daily warehouse, logistics, shipping, receiving, and distribution operations.
  • Ensure required materials are available and delivered to production areas on time to support production schedules and customer orders.
  • Ensure line‐side areas contain correct materials for scheduled production runs.
  • Oversee inbound receipt of raw materials and WIP, including accurate scanning, labeling, system transactions, and put‐away.
  • Oversee outbound picking, staging, transfer to shipping, and shipment execution.
  • Ensure all material movements are accurately recorded in ERP/MRP systems.
  • Report inactive, incorrect, or missing inventory tags to materials control and cycle counting teams.
  • Maintain timely movement of materials to appropriate storage or staging locations.

Inventory Control & Accuracy

  • Maintain inventory accuracy including FIFO compliance, location accuracy, and cycle counting support.
  • Define and maintain material locations using Plan for Every Part (PFEP) principles.
  • Prepare, support, and review inventory cycle counts and variance resolution.
  • Track and manage work‐in‐process inventory accuracy.
  • Support accurate scrap handling, segregation, and transaction reporting.
  • Ensure accurate handling of customer returns and material transfers.
  • Shipping, Receiving & Logistics Coordination
  • Plan, prioritize, and manage order fulfillment to meet customer delivery deadlines.
  • Prepare, review, and oversee shipping documentation including ASN’s, pick slips, bills of lading, and delivery paperwork.
  • Coordinate load planning and shipment routing to optimize freight efficiency and cost.
  • Communicate proactively with Customer Service and Sales regarding delivery status or risks.
  • Coordinate transportation and carrier interactions as required.

Safety, Equipment & Facility Management

  • Enforce all safety procedures, warehouse standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Inspect warehouse layout, racks, storage areas, aisles, and material handling practices for safety concerns.
  • Ensure safe operation of forklifts and material handling equipment.
  • Maintain material handling equipment through inspections, work orders, and replacement requests.
  • Ensure scrap containers are moved to designated locations promptly.
  • Maintain organized workspaces, clear aisles, and effective warehouse housekeeping.
  • Enforce 5S standards and lead warehouse continuous improvement initiatives.

Leadership & Workforce Management

  • Provide daily leadership, work assignments, and communication to warehouse personnel across all shifts.
  • Train, coach, audit, and enforce compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • nsure forklift certifications and required training records are current.
  • Develop warehouse personnel through coaching, counseling, performance feedback, and discipline in accordance with company policy.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance management activities.
  • Support plant‐wide continuous improvement teams, safety initiatives, and cross‐functional projects.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Support internal and external audits related to logistics, materials handling, and inventory control.
  • Observe and comply with all federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to warehouse processes, layout, material flow, and equipment.
  • Directly supervises material handlers, forklift operators, and warehouse personnel.
  • Assigns work, monitors performance, and supports employee development.
  • Participates in hiring, training, evaluations, and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy.

Skill and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience in warehouse, logistics, or material handling operations preferred.
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing or supply chain environments preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and material flow.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems; IQMS experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time‐management skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and material handling equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, shipping documentation, and material records.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 100 pounds and push or pull up to 250 pounds.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in warehouse, manufacturing, and office environments.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, airborne particles, wet or humid conditions, and temperature extremes.
  • PPE required in designated areas.
  • Noise levels in production areas may exceed OSHA limits.
  • Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, lifting, and equipment operation.

  • Authority to direct daily warehouse and logistics operations and assign work.
  • Authority to enforce safety rules, SOPs, and warehouse standards.
  • Authority to discipline employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Authority to coordinate shipping, receiving, and material flow activities with internal departments and carriers.
  • Authority to recommend process improvements, warehouse layout changes, and equipment needs.
